The influence of gospel music transcends denominational barriers and
pierces the hearts of listeners around the world.  With Howard’s rich
legacy in gospel music and the emergence of the first Gospel Choir on
a collegiate campus, Howard University Homecoming would be incomplete
without the celebration of one of the most powerful expressions of our
faith. We are happy to commence the festivities with the Gospel
Concert. The Howard University Homecoming Gospel Concert has hosted
nationally acclaimed gospel artists such as Stellar Award winners and
nominees: Hezekiah Walker, the Clark Sisters, Mary Mary, Kim Burrell,
Deitrick Haddon, Howard alum Richard Smallwood, Tye Tribbett & G.A.,
Kurt Carr and Kurt Carr Ministries as well as Marvin Sapp. This event,
with its deep and profound significance to the Howard University
community, continues to touch the lives of thousands of attendees,
young and old.
